The Digital Research Incubator is an annual program hosted by the FSU Libraries’ Office of Digital Research and Scholarship (DRS) and Information Technology Services’ Interdisciplinary Data Humanities Initiative (IDHI), which provides support for faculty and students exploring digital research methods.
Over the course of sixteen weeks, participants build foundational skills in digital humanities and social sciences, including introductory Python programming to scaffold and scale their research projects. Participant projects should explore how these computational methods may be applied to a found or created dataset.
To further support their work, participants are awarded $1,250 in research funding, which may be used for travel, training, or materials.
What participants receive
- Access to training materials and dedicated support from librarians specializing in digital technologies
- Community with a cohort of fellow researchers, scholars, and artists interested in creating works in a digital and open access environment
- $1,250 dollars in funding for travel, training, and materials
