Participants in the 2022-2023 PEN & Inc Cohort will explore new ways to present and disseminate their research. Each of their projects will contend with what it means to present their research and creative activity digitally and to a broad public. Their experiences will be instructive for many other academics interested in what it means to do research on the web. With that in mind, we are asking that all participants in PEN & Inc share their experiences with the broader FSU community. Each PEN & Inc awardee will write a short blog post throughout the 2022-23 academic year discussing their research project or experience in the program.
Questions explored by these posts may be:
- How does their work benefit from being presented online?
- What challenges have they faced in learning new technologies and how did they overcome them?
- How did their research or creative process change as a result of knowing their research would be disseminated through a web interface?
- What new opportunities for interdisciplinary work and collaboration has the program presented?
We hope that these posts will be useful to participants by allowing them to think more deeply about what it means to do academic work in a digital space. We also hope that these posts will be instructive for others who are wondering why building websites may be beneficial for their research.
If you are interested in exploring these questions with the 2022-23 PEN & Inc Cohort, you can apply through September 18th, 2022. If you are interested in learning more about this year’s participants, check back throughout the year for updates.
